Kenya Mission Trip, February 4 to 13, 2027

What this trip is
More than a mission trip.
This is not a sightseeing trip. Hands 4Life's work in Kenya is locally led. Pastor Yusuf and the Kenya team choose the projects, and your team serves under their direction.
Teams support work that is already happening: outreach, practical projects, church and Gospel ministry, education and time with children and elders together. No previous mission trip experience is needed. Come ready to serve, learn, laugh and work hard.
What a team is designed to leave behind
- Projects the Kenya team asked for, finished
- Friends who keep backing local leaders after the trip ends
Many people come home seeing the world, their faith and their own life a little differently.
Rough itinerary
A working trip, with room to experience Kenya.
This is a rough outline. The Hands 4Life schedule shifts with local needs, weather, transport and ministry opportunities.
Arrive in Kenya
Land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and ride our private bus to the hotel near Homa Bay and Rachuonyo. Two long travel days, then time to rest before the week of service.
Evangelism day
Share Jesus with the local community through the JESUS Film, worship, personal testimonies, small-group conversations and prayer.
Church & Circle of Life Fest
Worship at a local church service, then help host the Hands 4Life Circle of Life Fest: children and older adults together for the Gospel, games, music and a shared meal.
Build project
A hands-on project, such as helping renovate a grandparent's home, improving a living space or meeting another need for an elder.
Build or outreach
Finish the build, or join a new outreach: visiting families, encouraging children and elders, or meeting practical needs.
Education visit
Visit the children's school to meet students, encourage teachers and see how education is helping children build a stronger future.
Return to Nairobi
Ride the private bus back to Nairobi, check into the hotel and end the day with reflection and a trip recap.
Safari & flight home
A safari day at Ruma National Park to see Kenya's land and wildlife, then the late evening flight home from Nairobi.
Hands 4Life serves everyone, regardless of faith.
Four ways to be part of it
Everyone can help. Not everyone can go.
Every Hands 4Life team is sent by people at home as much as by the people who travel.

FAQ
Questions about the Kenya mission trip
When is the next Hands 4Life mission trip to Kenya?
The next Hands 4Life mission trip to Kenya is February 4 to 13, 2027, in Homa Bay County. Team members work beside the Kenya team, serve in the community and take part in church and outreach.
How much does the Kenya mission trip cost?
The trip costs $2,800 per person plus airfare. A $300 non-refundable deposit reserves your place, payments must total $1,400 by November 4, 2026, and the final balance is due January 4, 2027.
Do I need mission trip experience?
No. You do not need previous mission trip experience to join the Hands 4Life team. Come ready to serve, learn, laugh and work hard. Team preparation meetings before departure cover safety, logistics and cultural expectations.
Can someone help pay for my trip?
Yes. Family, friends, churches and your community can give toward your trip costs, and Hands 4Life provides fundraising resources, templates and ideas. Supporters can also join the Red Letter Campaign by writing you a letter of prayer or encouragement that you open on the trip. Email [email protected] to take part. Donors can also fund scholarships for students and young leaders.
What does the trip cost cover?
The trip cost covers transportation in Kenya, meals, lodging, exit taxes, trip insurance, supplies and excursions. Airfare is not included. Plan for your own checked bag fees, visa costs and souvenirs. We suggest bringing $100 to $200 for personal spending and $20 toward a group tip for hotel staff, translators and local helpers.
When is the deadline to apply?
Applications usually close 90 days before the trip starts, but places fill early, so apply soon. After you apply, Hands 4Life sets up a Zoom call to talk it through. Every team member goes through a background check before approval, to keep volunteers and the people we serve safe.
What happens if I cancel?
If you cancel 60 days or less before departure, the money you have paid stays with the mission, because by then it has gone toward trip costs. If you cancel earlier, most people get a full refund minus the deposit and possibly the flight, at Hands 4Life's discretion. Your deposit can go toward another trip in the same calendar year. If Hands 4Life cancels a trip, you can move your balance to another trip within 12 months, keep the same price for next year, or get a full refund.
Can someone under 18 go on the trip?
Yes, with a notarized letter. A minor traveling without both parents needs a notarized letter from each absent parent giving permission to travel to Kenya. The letter lists the child's full legal name and date of birth, both parents' names and signatures, the team leader or responsible adult, the travel dates with flight numbers, Kenya as the destination and tourism as the purpose. Without it, the airline can refuse boarding.
Can I come if I am not a U.S. citizen?
Yes. You handle your own visa and airfare after you complete the Hands 4Life application.
